Looking back at the 2022 Wild One Run
Wrapping up a Wild Day
The 2022 Wild One Run marked the 5th year of this event. What a milestone! Having to go virtual for the past two years sure hasn’t slowed us down. But this year felt extra special being able to have an in-person event again. It was so great to see all your smiling faces out there on run day!
Over 230 people registered for the 5th Wild One Run, which is another record for this event. We had runners, joggers, walkers as well as four legged friends explore the Wilden trails on Sunday, September 18th, 2022. What made it extra special is that we had such a wide age range line up at the start – people from 3-79 years of age!
As in previous years, the leading local provider of geothermal energy solutions, GeoTility, generously contributed to our cause again. Kelowna branch manager Steve Begley, who took part in the run with his wife and kids, donated over $2,500. Thank you GeoTility!
The Primary Engineering team also attended this year’s Wild One Run and added to our fundraising efforts with a contribution of $2,500. Thank you for your participation and contribution!
Thanks to our participants, sponsors and donors we were able to raise $11,300. Blenk Development matched this amount resulting in an overall total of $22,600 for the youth mental health projects supported by the Blenk Family Fund.
Fun fact: This year participants received Wild One Run socks which were manufactured in partnership with Sock Rocket. For every pair produced Sock Rocket donated another three pairs to an organization of our choice. We chose to donate the extra 900 pairs of socks to the CMHA Kelowna to support their programs and services.
We are already looking forward to next year’s run.
